My life changed 180 degrees when I first moved to Canada. I have always been crafty and will continue to be. This is my story of daily creations and fun moments of life.

Move and chritstmas
I have stash of fibres that I got for christmas that I started spinning, its my first time spinning corridale and I really like it. So easy to spin and smooth. It is not as soft as merino but this definitely will do a job of neckwarmer as my hubby wants me to knit with my handspun yarn.
It has been a busy year but we can finally settle in our new house (if I ever finish unpacking!).
Our christmas was fantastic. My son is healthy and happy. I am grateful to have everyone I can think of in my life.

Spinning wheel and new fun
My new to me wheel has been completed and fixed for a couple of days now. I am very happy with her. She is wonderful. So fun to try out some fibres. I am still playing with it but already made 3 skien of yarns! (It is also 2plied!!)
I was so tempted to leave her out but since our movers are coming to pack tomorrow, I tidied up my spinning supplies and put the wheel away in the room where my baby won't go in.
I have to say, spinning is almost as much fun as weaving... maybe more... I think it is just personal preferences but I do enjoy the treadling. So glad that I installed double treadle kit because this makes a whole lots of difference.
So here is my new spinning friend!

What a mess!
I bought inexpensive vintage rigid heddle loom. It's 25" weaving width and looks like a simple loom. But when I tried to warp my yarn, this happened. Like, how could this happen? How can I fix it? Spent so much time untangle some but doesn't look like I've done some.
I guess it's a learning experience...

My new to me very own spinning wheel
The reason why I am thinking is because I am getting my very own spinning wheel and planning on upgrading it to double treadle with Ashford's double treadle kit. This wonderful lady who has had this wheel for about 30 years did not use much but used it as a decoration of the home finally wanted wheel to be used as it was made for. She is generously giving it to me and its coming this friday!!! I am super excited (how could I not be?)!
I mean there has to be some work that needs to be done to it but it is going to be my very own spinning wheel!
Drum carder will be handy if I wanted carding fibres and blend them to my original blends to spin. But do I need it now? I mean I am a beginner spinner/weaver and there are lots to learn. Should I expand the area that I would like to go for or should I wait? If I start doing that, I feel like I will want to dye my own fleece as well.
Oh the wonderful world of fibre art!

Baby hat
I finished this hat last night. I think it's pretty good. It fits my 1 year old perfectly!
My next project is to knit another hat with neon yarn for my brother in law who loves those colors.
Hopefully I will get this done before the move so that when the move is done I can start weaving again.
I would love to start dish towel then yoga mat with organic cotton♡

Knit and write
Now that I am totally into the world of beautiful yarns and textiles, I would like to note things that I learned, made, tried and enjoying with people who happen to find this blog.
I have always been a knitter, crochet and sew in between other craft projects. I recently started to spin yarns on a spindle, and weaving.
